Visitor Information
The University of Utah College of Nursing is centrally located in the foothills of Salt Lake City. The College of Nursing has a long and distinguished history characterized by excellence in nursing and gerontology education. The College is an integral part of the academic Health Sciences Center which consists of the University Hospital and Clinics, Eccles Health Sciences Library, the School of Medicine and the Colleges of Health, Pharmacy and Nursing. Established in 1948, the College's baccalaureate and graduate programs are fully accredited by the National League for Nursing. The College awards baccalaureate degrees to both generic and registered nurse students. Master's education is available in 12 specialty areas. In addition, the College provides the only doctoral program in the state of Utah. The College of Nursing is located among the Health Sciences facilities on the University of Utah campus adjacent to the new state of the art Health Sciences Education Building.
Special features of both buildings include self-paced, basic and advanced simulated learning resources laboratories, a computer center, graduate study carrels, technology based conference rooms and classrooms, student lounges, and faculty and administrative offices. For students and faculty, the College of Nursing building functions as "home base" with the new Health Sciences Education Building as a place to socialize and develop professional relationships as well as to learn and study. |
