BECFA: THE BACCALAUREATE EDUCATION
CLINICAL FACULTY ASSOCIATE PARTNERSHIP

The Utah Department of Workforce Services (DWS) and the University of Utah have combined resources to create the Baccalaureate Education/Clinical Faculty Associate (BECFA) Partnership to offer training scholarship and support to students who are accepted into the undergraduate nursing program at the University of Utah and meet DWS eligibility requirements.

This program will provide Training Scholarships. These training scholarships are need-based, and will be determined based on DWS formulas.

To determine if you may be eligible for BECFA support, please answer the following questions:

1. Are you pursuing a career in nursing?


2. Do you have, or are you working on the qualifications to be admitted to the University of Utah College of Nursing?


3. Have you explored other resources to pay the cost of education/training such as Pell grants, scholarships or other financial aid?


4. Have you been laid off from a job in the last two years and been unable to find employment comparable to what you had before being laid off?
   OR
   
5. Was your income over the last six months no greater than the amounts listed below?

If you answered YES to four or more of the above questions, you may be eligible to receive funding upon your admittance into the University of Utah College of Nursing. Please note there are limited funds available through the Utah Department of Workforce Services, and funds will be made available on a first come, first eligible basis.
