Building for the Future of Nursing Education
The Nurse. It brings to mind images of relief: a comforting hand before surgery, a listening ear at the bedside or a caring voice explaining a procedure. Whether it's an extended stay in the hospital or a quick office visit, we depend on nurses in all aspects of our health care. But the practice of nursing is facing challenges. More nurses are needed to care for aging baby boomers. More highly prepared nurses are needed for specialty care. As the College of Nursing expands programs to meet these demands, we have found our existing building inadequate. Subsequently, the college has launched an $8.5 million campaign to modernize our existing facility. The renovation will add education space including a state-of-the-art simulated learning center and upgrade office and conference space, ensuring students and faculty have the resources needed for education and research. We invite you to join us in building the future of nursing education. Your contribution ensures the College of Nursing can recruit top faculty and prepare more nurses for specialty, leadership and faculty positions. Your support will extend well beyond the walls of the College of Nursing as we educate more students to go into the community to care for your family and friends. We thank you in advance for your support of this campaign and the vital mission of nursing.
