Distance Learning Rural and Underserved Primary Care and Addictions Master's Program Admission Information
Applicants to the Master's program in nursing must be graduates of a program accredited by a nationally-recognized accrediting agency in nursing with an upper division major in nursing. In addition, the undergraduate program must have included field Practice in community/public health and psychiatric- mental health nursing. Completed applications for the Master of Science program will be reviewed beginning July 1st for the following program year. Admission to the University of Utah is consistent with policy of the Graduate School. Students must be admitted to both the Graduate School of the university and the College of Nursing. Application to the University Graduate School should be completed no later than two (2) months prior to College of Nursing deadlines Admission to the Master's program is limited and selective. Admission cannot be guaranteed for all individuals meeting criteria for admission. All applicants must have practiced as a registered nurse for a minimum of one year full time equivalent prior to application for the program. Applicants to the outreach master's program must indicate their desired program of choice. Applications to the College of Nursing are available on our website, www.nurs.utah.edu, approximately four (4) months prior to the application deadline. Application requirements are:
Students are responsible for the completion of their application file. Incomplete files will not be reviewed.
