Year 1 - Spring

NURS 6001: Professional Role & Collaboration (2)
NURS 6004: Intro to Information Technology (3)
NURS 6006: Principles of Pharmacotherapy (1)
NURS 6580: Issues in Rural Health (2)
INTENSIVE WEEK - Exams, presentations, Substance Abuse lectures and paper.

Year 1 - Summer
NURS 6020 Adult Assessment & Health Promotion (2)
NURS 6030 Diagnostic Reasoning (2)
(These courses will require several visits to campus)
INTENSIVE WEEK - Exams, Presentations, Standardized Patient, Substance Abuse lecture and paper.

Year 1 - Fall
NURS 6002 Health Care Delivery (2)
NURS 6007 Pathophysiology (2)

NURS 6100: Basic Mgt of Childbearing/GYN Problems (1)

INTENSIVE WEEK - Exams, Presentations, Substance Abuse lectures and paper.

Year 2 - Spring
NURS 6050: Pharmacology (2)
NURS 6601 Episodic Problems of Adults & Elders (3)
NURS 6604 Physiology & Psychology of Aging (3)
Approved NP Elective
INTENSIVE WEEK - Exams, Presentations, Standardized Patient, Clinical Observation - 4 hours.

Year 2 - Summer
NURS 6896 Practicum 1 (3)
(180 hours total) - NP/Physician in an ambulatory care setting, family practice, long term care/home health, Pediatric Practice-well child & episodic, OB/GYN). 70 hours must be with minority or underserved clients & 30 hours must be with addiction/substance abuse including Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and/or drug court.
INTENSIVE WEEK
Elective: U of U School on Alcoholism & Other Drug Dependencies - *This elective will be taken by all students in this program. 1 Week (2)
- Schedule Standardized Patient and site visit with faculty will be scheduled during this visit. http://uuhsc.utah.edu/uas/index.html (Usually last week in June)

Year 2 - Fall
NURS 6603 Chronic Problems of Adults & Elders (3)
Approved NP Elective (2)
NURS 6897 Practicum II (4)
(240 hours total) - Physician/NP in ambulatory care setting, OB/GYN, Pediatric, urgent care, pediatric/adolescent corrections, occupational health). 70 hours must be with minority or underserved clients & 30 hours must be with addiction/substance abuse.
INTENSIVE WEEK - Tests, Presentations, Substance Abuse lecture and paper, Standardized Patient examinations, clinical site visit with faculty.

Year 3 - Spring
UUHS 5500: Cultural Competency & Mutual Respect (1)
NURS 6888: Masters Synthesis (2)
(Paper focused on Substance Abuse/Addiction)
NURS 6898: NP Residency (6)
(360 hours total) 120 hours must be with addiction/substance abuse problems, pain clinics, prisons, mental health facilities, HIV clinics. 120 hours must be with minority or underserved clients. All other hours - family practice/ internal medicine, VA clinic, pediatrician's office, specialty experiences.
INTENSIVE WEEK - exams, presentations, substance abuse lecture and paper, Standardized Patient, clinical site visit with faculty.
