RN - BS Program of Study
New cohorts are admitted each year to begin in the Fall Semester (mid-August). Students will be enrolled part-time, for four consecutive semesters, completing the program the following Fall (mid-December). The RN-BS program is an ONLINE program. The program of study is based on the premise that the registered nurse student successfully complete a series of NLN advanced standing examinations in the following areas: pediatrics, obstetrics, med-surgery and psychology (students will receive 30 selected upper division nursing credits by passing the examination). In addition, registered nurse students must successfully complete all prerequisite courses and meet all university requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree, including Quantitative Reasoning [QI], upper division writing intensive course(s) [CW], diversity [DIV], and American Institutions. The university residence requirement and upper division requirements must also be met. Students will be required to attend a two day on-campus intensive orientation at the beginning of the program. Students will be assigned to clinical sites within a reasonable proximity of their home both Third Semester (45 hours) and Fourth Semester (120 hours). First Semester Second Semester Third Semester Fourth Semester
