RN-BS Program Admission Requirements

Overview Application Program of Study Programs Home Prerequisites

Develop the leader in you.

  • Applicants must apply to both the University of Utah AND the College of Nursing.


  • Applicants must have completed an associate degree nursing program with an Associate of Science or Associate of Arts degree, to include necessary lower-division prerequisite courses for the College of Nursing. For applicants completing an Associate of Applied Science degree, additional coursework is required prior to admission.


  • A minimum grade point average (GPA) on all prerequisites: 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.

  • A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale. is


  • Students receive 30 upper division nursing credits upon successful completion of Advanced Placement Nursing Examinations.


  • Complete application materials must be on file.


  • Current RN license throughout the program.
